DRP Week Four

A frustrating night to put behind us. Overall the car was good throughout practice and we made great progress.

In qualifying Jake turned one of the fastest first laps, unfortunately his next two laps were slower due to having to much rear brake dialed into the car and makings loose in condition. We still made the show and ended up P10.

In our heat race, Jake started P5 and was able to work past two cars before getting bottle up behind the race for the lead. Jake ended up P3.

For the feature Jake started P4 and was able to settle into P3 for a couple laps before a slip up cost him. Jake got freight trained with a ill handing car and dropped to P7. Jake then was involved in an incident when the car behind got into him which turned him. Somehow the other cars bumper bar ended up over Jake’s left rear tire keeping them locked together.

After the safety crew separated the cars we had a flat left front so went in to change it. The crew and several others help get us back out as the green flag dropped, in hopes we could catch a caution to bunch the field back up. Unfortunately their was an issue in the rear end making the car extremely loose under acceleration. Jake hung on until the leaders lapped him. After that we ended our night in P18.

We will put this one behind us, regroup, and move forward. Thank you to all the supporters who came out for O’Reilly Auto Parts Night!
